Let us get you STE(A)M Certified!

A little about us, our founders, how it all works and some fun photos of us in action!

Immersing our students in STEM and STEAM rich environments provides an opportunity to not only close the achievement gap, but unlock the possibilities of careers and courses of studies for our college bound students.  For those students who make the choice to enter the workforce our programs equip students with the tools necessary to become gainfully employed or even an entrepreneur after graduating high school! We would love to discuss with you how we can tailor a program for your school!

The 5E's Instructional Model provides a format for lessons that builds on what students already know. The 5Es sequence the learning experience so that learners construct their understanding of a concept across time. Each phase of the learning sequence can be described using five words that begin with "E": engage, explore, explain, extend, and evaluate.

Engage - Students are introduced to the concept. Students make connections to prior knowledge and what is to be  studied. Students become mentally engaged in the new learning experience.

Explore - Students explore or experiment at this point. They engage in observations, use technology tools and materials, collect data, and record data.

Explain - Students verbalize their understandings from the "explore" phase, look for patterns in their data, and  describe what they observed. This can be done in small and/or whole groups.

Extend - Students expand their learning, practice skills and behavior, and make connections or applications to  related concepts and in the world around them.

Evaluate - Students answer questions, pose questions, and illustrate their knowledge (understandings) and skill  abilities.

S.T.E.(A).M. SATURDAYS

This three tiered curriculum is designed to engage students from older elementary thru high school grades in learning about the benefits of using STEM based solutions, integration of STEM into our daily lives, and alternative energy. Our program is rooted in the disciplines of science, technology, engineering and math. Through leadership activities students participate in hands on maintenance & repairing of bikes, go-karts and trucks. Through STEM students will become prepared to matriculate and become the next generation of leaders, thinkers, creative minds & facilitators in the alternative energy industry and in the sciences.

More abut HEY!

We don’t believe that our young people need to sit and wait for the leadership baton to be passed to them; it’s time for them to take it and start running! HEY! was created to cultivate, encourage and mentor young people to identify and meet the needs of their ever changing world. With this in mind, HEY! has created two primary initiatives to address those needs, S.T.E.(A).M. Saturdays and the EMPOWERED! Leadership Academy.

We look forward to bringing these programs to your school, church, or community organization.
